We love to be on our boat, so we placed this cache while boating in the florida keys on vacation. We found another geocache on a secluded island and loved it so much, we decided to replicate the idea. You will need a boat to get to this island, but its well worth the trip. Kayaks or paddleboards can also make the journey. The island is filled with birds and iguanas and we even found a US survey disc on the island (placed in 1935).
The cache is a glass jar covered in University of Florida gator duct tape. It contains a few prizes and a log with pen. It is within 30 feet of the survey disc. Be sure to wear shoes as the island is made out of lava like limestone. Shoes are a MUST. Look up in the mangrove trees and you will likely see large iguanas. The cache is near this disk. After placing the cache we caught an amazing sunset. The island is surrounded by grass 2-4 feet deep, safe for boat entry. Enter from the North side of the island. We saw no trash or any other sign of recent human visitors to the island.
