The Kissing Gate- Greenhill Traditional Cache
The Kissing Gate- Greenhill
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The Kissing Gate is a rusty-red gate, so named because for two people to go through at once, you'd have to "kiss". It's a surprisingly scenic walk, but be sure to wear wellies, especially after rain, as parts of the path can get quite muddy.
To get here
--------------
From the railway tunnel at the bottom of Glenyards Road, walk up the right of way going south. (You'll know if you're going the right way if you pass a swingset.) Once you see a metal gate, go through it and follow that path, rambling through the pretty heather fields as you go. You'll reach the Kissing Gate eventually!
Things to look out for
--------------
Cows can roam the area around the path at parts of the year, so watch out for them and keep dogs on a lead.
Be sure to follow the Outdoor Code. Keep gates closed and clean up after your dog.
I highly advise you bring wellies for this walk... it can get muddy! :D Please note that new gates and fences have been added recently by the landowner. The Kissing Gate's still there, though!
