Microbusters Unite! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ohjoy!: Inventory reduction. My goal is to archive or adopt out 1 or 2 old caches before allowing myself to place a new one! I picked up the container to recycle it.

Geocache Description:

Q. What is a Microbuster?
A. A cacher who hides the largest size cache container appropriate to the area of the hide.

Q. Who is a Microbuster?
A. Any cacher who hides any cache that isn't a micro. ("isn't a micro" means it will be large enough to hold trade items, particularly goodies for kids to trade.)

Q. Why Microbusters?
A. To encourage placement of small to large size containers rather than pill bottles or film cannisters whenever possible.

Q. Are Microbusters against micro caches?
A. Not always.

Q. When are Microbusters in favor of micro caches?
A. examles:
- if the container is unique.
- if it is fun to hunt for.
- if it makes you smile when it is found.
- if it brings you to an interesting location where nothing larger would fit.
- if the hide is obvious, but you have to figure out how to retrieve the log book, causing no damage to the environment.

Q. When are Microbusters not in favor of micro caches?
A. Examples:
- when a larger container, containing trade items that are more appealing to kids, will fit.
- when a location has jumpy coordinates, making the hunt for a micro frustrating.
- when in a location where environmental damage will occur due to prolonged searching.

Q. Are Microbuster caches expensive?
A. No, just use old PB jars, nut containers, etc. Give them a coat of paint and toss in a few goodies for kids to explore. Dollar stores have great cache contents.

Q. May I use the Microbuster name in my byline?
A. Of course, as long as your container is at least as large as the smallest size of PB jar, and contains some goodies for the kids to trade.

DISCLAIMER: I have hidden many micros; if they are inappropriate, take me to task.
OFFER: You only have micro containers? I'll help you get and prepare larger ones.
