Mercator Madness has been resurrected, and roams the Yarra River.
My cache "Mercator Madness" was one of the longest lived caches in Victoria, lasting almost 10 years. Unfortunately it was recently muggled. I loved the theme of the cache and it got some good reviews, so I've decided to bring it back. But the area where it was planted now has plenty of caches, so I've moved it a few km north to a spot which once had a cache but doesn't at the moment.
It is again a map-based cache, so please swap maps or map related items (or trackables of course).
It's a large cache, a decent 1.5km walk from the nearest parking area. I recommend walking in along the river track to Blue Tongue Bend, which is a great little walk, and then you can come back on the 4WD track over the ridge. All up it's at least an hour round trip, but a rewarding one. When I planted it the river was high and flowing swiftly.
It's a large cache (5L sistema), hidden in a very traditional manner (circa 2002). Very close to the track with no need to bush-bash. Please ensure it's sealed properly and re-hidden and it should also stand the test of time.
