Geocache Description:

You are looking for an ammo can a stone’s throw off the Ozark Highlands Trail.

The Ozark Highlands Trail roams 180 miles through parts of seven counties in northwest Arkansas. It stretches from Lake Fort Smith State Park, across the Ozark National Forest, to the Buffalo National River. The trail passes through some of the most remote and scenic portions of the Ozark Mountains, like the Hurricane Creek & Richland Creek Wilderness Areas. It also crosses White Rock Mountain, Hare Mountain, the Marinoni Scenic Area, and many other breathtaking spots.

This geocache has been approved by the Boston Mountain Ranger’s District in the Ozark National Forest.

To begin your search for this geocache, jump out of your cachemobile and head back out on the Forest Service road and walk a few feet up the hill. You will see a sign for the OHT to your left. Start walking in the woods and pay attention to your GPSr. It is rather rocky in spots…watch your step so you don’t twist an ankle!

Original ammo can contents include a FTF $2.00 bill. A bottle of unopened H2O purifying tablets, a stinger flashlight, 2 plastic match containers (perfect for small geocaches), an emergency rain poncho, Double Cross Paperback by James Patterson and a log book!
