Geocache Description:

Small concealed plastic container. Will require tool to access. You do not need to go on the busy road to get this cache but watch kiddies here anyway.

The mighty Gascoyne River runs through here. It may look placid now but is prone to flooding - even over the bridge. The Gascoyne River is the longest river in WA at 865 km.  The river starts as the Gascoyne River (North Branch) on Three Rivers sheep station near the Great Northern Highway and flows into Shark Bay and the Indian Ocean at Carnavon.

The cache location is protected against this flooding. There is a parking area on the southern side of the river on the LHS of the road if you are heading north. Accees is off South River Road. You can have a picnic here and reflect if you wish although this is a busy road. Either way it is a break on the long journey.  If you are heading south you can continue along South River Road and stop and buy fruit from the many roadside sellers here. There are not many cavches in Carnavon and we thought this river deserved something.
