The hitchhikers guide to the cache is a series of 9 caches plus a bonus 10th cache which can be done as a puzzle cache by collecting the code answers on the way round. The series is set between the villages of Papworth and Elsworth and is a celebration of the outstanding works of Douglas Adams.
These caches follow the story of the hitchhikers guide from the untimely destruction of Arthur Dent's house to the discovery of 'the question' of life, universe and everything. Each cache represents a different highlight within the books and is therefore accompanied by appropriate quotes to make your caching that little bit more enjoyable.
The route should take 2.5 to 3 hours depending on your slowest walkers. It is child friendly in general but a small portion is along a fast road and there is some deep water to be aware of near 2 of the cache sites so supervision on young geocachers is important.
Not all of the caches contain a code answer so be sure to check them thoroughly before moving on.
The bonus cache is the only one designed for swaps and TBs so please don't place them in any of the others.
There is the opportunity to collect at least 7 other caches on the way round.
Translation
"'The Babel Fish, is small yellow and leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the universe. It feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind
of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centres of the brain which has supplied them. The practical upshot of all this is that is you stick a babel fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any form of language.'"
Happy caching!
