Geocache Description:

The cache is a large lock on lock camo box. It is attached so please do not pull or tug. Unlock the top and sides and the inner goodies will fall down like a fold out table in an airplane. No need to cross the fence. It's on the public side of things. Talking stick and log book inside. Bring your swagg. Special train car toy for the FTF!

As you grab the cache glance along the railroad tracks to your northeast. There are 3 stone pillars reaching out of the tall grass right along the tracks. These pillars are the reminants of a jerkwater tower. In the old days of railroading there was a water tower every 6 to 8 miles for the steam boilers needs. The water was converted to steam and pushed though the pistons in the engine to power the locomotive. And oh my did those big engines use that water fast! Just imagine the old steamer sitting, hissing, on the track in front of you. The engineer would grab or "jerk" the water spigot to the locomotive, take what he needed and with two short blows of the whistle, the iron beast would lurch forward again. Oh how I love the low whistle of a steamy. Just imagne it echoing through the hills and valleys of Northwest North Dakota.
