The nearby tanks at the Sports Airfield are filled with water and pre-mixed retardant for use by the local Stirling North CFS Brigade to fill bomber aircarft during large, local bushfires. You may be lucky enough to see small aircraft using the air strip for training or even the bomber aircraft in action.
