Geocache Description:

First of a 4 cache series on a pleasant walk to the foot of Cautley Spout.

Cautley Spout is England's highest waterfall. This cache is number 1 of a series of 4 that will take to to the foot of the spout. The walk to the foot of the waterfall is a pleasant walk in wonderful countryside . Please note there are a couple of very small streams to cross and the paths can get muddy after heavy rain so wear appropriate footwear.

More serious walkers may choose to walk up the steep steps to the top of the spout and continue on to the submit of the Howgills known as the Calf. From here several routes are available. If you do choose to carry on please take a map and compass and all the correct gear.

Free parking is available for approximately 10 cars but these can be full at busy periods. See waypoint at N 54° 22.024 W 002° 27.954

This cache is at the very start of the walk and can be considered as a cache and dash. The cache is a small micro with no room for a pen, so please bring your own.
