Geocache Description:


I decided to hide this cache here for a couple of reasons.  First, I love to golf.  I've spent quite a bit of time down here.  Well spent time with friends and family.   The second reason, I have a little history with this golf course.  

The Dinaland Golf Course opened in the 1950s with 9 holes of golf.  On the north side of these 9 holes, was my Great Grandpa's farm.  Now I personally didn't live or work down here,  but it's pretty much where my dad grew up.  For my siblings and I, it was where we would go for family reunions and big huge bon fires.  (I remember the fire department showing up once.  Someone thought the field was on fire.)  We would also go down to the pond and catch crawdads, and even do some hunting.  It was always exciting down on the farm.  

In the early 1990s my Great Grandpa sold the farm and it became the back 9 holes.  The Dinaland Golf Course is now an 18 hole course with 6,773 yards of golfing.  The pond that I mentioned, you now tee off over it, on hole 17.  I still get to go hang out and have fun down on the farm, but it's in a whole new way.  So come on down, enjoy an afternoon of golf.  Then, on the way out, Stop and grab this quick cache.
