This cache is part of a walk through Grizedale Valley. A small plastic tube container.
Grizedale Valley is wooded for most of its length and supports an impressive range of woodland birds. In addition to the more common species, woodpeckers - greater spotted (and occasionally green) - can be seen, as well as summer migrants such as blackcaps, willow warblers, chiffchaffs, whitethroats and garden warblers. Grizedale is Norse for the valley of the wild pigs. The valley contains many birch and oak trees and gives an indication of what the whole valley might have been like in more ancient times.
