The Cache is named "Mordor" after the Lord of the Rings's dark relm "MORDOR" whose map kinda reminds me of the terrain near the cache location. The item you are looking for is a large cache container full of swag, and sometimes Travel Bugs, GeoCoins and other trackables items that are passing through Central Ohio and the Ohio State University area and need a place to stay before moving on with another geocacher. The cache is a large container that can accommodate Travel Bugs of all sizes you are looking to pass on.
I am hoping this becomes a Favorite point & place for you to drop off those trackables of any size you have had in your possession for far to long. Also feel free to log and help to move along any GeoCoins/Travel Bugs that may be in the cache.
Do not attempt from the nearby highway. Only a very small amount of "bushwacking" may be involved as the cache is only located within a few yards of the treeline from the mowed grass "field" and long large "earth mound". If you approach from the East/North East, stay on the mowed grass areas then follow the stream until you come to one of the two footbridges for easy access to cross the stream, then it is a direct easy shot to GZ.
From the Arboretum just south of the GZ, there is a public access gravel road that takes you about .2 miles from the GZ, however you will need to cross the stream to reach the GZ if you approach from that direction. Even though the cache is not located at the Arboretum, if you park at the gravel turn-around at the Arboretum, access to the road is only open from Dusk to Dawn.
Be sure to:
-Simply walk into Mordor.
-Bring a writing utensil.
-Search and find the cache discreetly. Muggles, Orcs, and Sauron could be in the area during the day.
-Log your find.
-Drop off and/or pick up Travel Bugs, GeoCoins, or other trackables items, and log that you have done so.
-Trade out swag from the swag bag.
-Replace container & re-hide securely and re-cover in the EXACT same way & spot you retrieved it from.
