Geocache Description:





    A little boy and his family moved into a new house. The people who used to live there told the new family to NEVER EVER go into the wine cellar. Well, the parents told the little boy to NEVER EVER EVER go into the wine cellar. So for about a week the boy ignored the wine cellar, getting to know the new neighborhood and the like. Then one day he remembers this and goes down into the basement and looks at the door to the wine cellar. It looked normal enough so the boy tried the door-knob. Of course it had been locked. So the boy went back to his everyday routine, until a month or two later when he found a key in the cupboard while searching for cookies. He remembered the locked door and thought it was worth a try. He remembered his parents telling him to NEVER EVER EVER EVER go into the wine cellar, but he couldn't resist. So he tried the key on the door and lo and behold it worked! He opened the door expecting a room, he found instead a hallway. He peered down into it, finding it went on for quite a ways. About twenty yards down he found another door. Luckily this one was unlocked. He opened it and found a stair case. He went down the staircase which ended in another hall way that led to a great underground cavern with a lake and an island in the middle. Happily,there was a boat on the shore. So he got in the boat and rowed to the island. While exploring the island he heard a gentle snoring. Following the sound he came upon a GIANT PURPLE GORRILA sleeping on the ground. He was amazed as one would expect, but because he was a brave little boy, not frightened. He carefully walked up to the Gorilla and in awe, reached out and touched him lightly on his arm…the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA jumped up and roared! The little boy ran for the boat and franticly rowed for the shore; but the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA swam after him. He ran through the first door and slamed it shut as hard as he could, but the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA crashed through the door. So the boy ran up and around the corner, up the stairs, and slamed the wine cellar door, locking it. He waited, panting. He heard something coming at the door. The little boy ran upstairs, and out into the yard. The GIANT PURPLE GORRILA chased him. The little boy jumped on his bicycle and rode down the street, but the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA chased him. The little boy jumped into a passing car and was driven away; but the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA chased him. The little boy got off at the docks and jumped on a ferry, but the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA chased him. The little boy got on a speed boat, but the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA chased him. The little boy got on an airplane, flew to a distant island and lived his life as a beach bum. Then one day, years later, a PURPLE Dot appeared on the horizon. The little boy climbed a tree, the Dot grew bigger, the little boy ran into his little shack, the Dot grew closer, the boy ran to the other side of the island and hid. The GIANT PURPLE GORRILA got to the island and found the boy; he chased him up trees, through his shack and around the island. The boy finally collapsed on the beach, exhausted and resigned to his fate. He awaited the GIANT PURPLE GORRILA …without hope.
The GIANT PURPLE GORRILA, now in total control, sauntered up to the little boy……… touched his head and said, “YOUR IT!" and with a satisfied smile, swam away.

The cache is most easily accessed from the paved path or the parallel Oakdale (Red) trail. Stealth Required!
