This is a simple loop following the footpaths in and around the (still unfinished) Woodlands Park development in Great Dunmow.
A series of 10 caches have been placed in various locations - some will be obvious, and some not so obvious.
Parking can be found in the car park of the nearby supermarket and if you want to do the loop in a clockwise direction, you will need to walk a couple of hundred yards to the start of the footpath, here: N51 52.412 E0 20.615.
You will notice that the road here - Woodside Way, which will eventually become the Dunmow bypass - is not finished, and is fenced off. The footpath parallels this unfinished road until it ends at a kissing gate and deposits you onto an open stretch of the road - fenced off at either end, so no cars! - that another footpath crosses. You will follow this path after grabbing the nearby caches........
All of the caches are located on or very near to the footpaths you will follow - there is no need to climb any fences or put yourself in dangerous situations.
The series is mostly off road, with a short section on pavement, but is unsuitable for buggies and wheelchairs in a couple of places – sorry about that!
The only beavers you will see are on the signs, but if you can see beavers and a footpath sign, you are in the right spot!
