Geocache Description:

This is our first cache and have place it in memory of our father/grandfather we called Papa. The 10th anniversary of his passing is August 22nd. Papa served as a medic in World War II. He was captured in the Battle of the Bulge and as he described it, was a guest of the German Army for 5 months. He had riveting stories. Papa was a Civil War buff, mostly because his great great grandfather served in the union army, and died outside of Andersonville Prison. Since we could not find any Civil War items, we decided to honor his memory with one of his hobbies, coin collecting. He co-owned a coin shop in the 70's with a friend. In the cache we have placed some wheat pennies, some Big Y silver coins, and for FTF, a gold dollar. Or you can leave the gold dollar for one of the kids. Papa would've liked that. If you park near the 3 hour parking sign (or in our parking area just across the street from the cache (posting a picture)), there is a bit of a trail in so you don't have to cross the stream (also posting a picture of this). The cache container is a small lock n lock.
