Geocache Description:

This cache requires you to travel to the posted coordinates and find some permanently recorded information. You will then use this information to find your final coordinates.

One of the fun things about geocaching is influencing new people to start the game. I have a friend who is very interested in giving geocaching a try, and he suggested this idea for a cache. Since it fits well with another of my downtown caches, Yogi Wuz Here, I thought it would be a great one for me to place.

Several years ago, my friend and I were walking at lunch when he noticed some city employees repaving a section of the sidewalk. Tapping into his inner child, he couldn't help but write some initials into the wet cement. They are not his initials, but they do have meaning. Maybe someday if you meet him at a caching event he can tell you what they signify.

Your first step is to go to the posted coordinates. There you will find a section of concrete sidewalk that has several things written in it. Look for very legible writing that only contains three letters.

To get your final coordinates, take the three letters and translate them into their numerical position in the alphabet. For example, A=1, B=2, C=3, ... , Z=26. When translated, the three letters should give you three two-digit numbers. These numbers make up your final coordinates as follows:

Letter 1 = AB
Letter 2 = CD
Letter 3 = EF

Final Coordinates: N 34 44.ABC W 092 16.DEF

To help verify your answer, your three two-digit numbers should sum to 52.

Now that you have the final coordinates in hand, go find the container and sign the log! Bring your own pen.
