Geocache Description:

First thing's first. For your own safety, do NOT park at the side of highway 59. Please use the parking waypoint coordinates. If the dirt road is snowed in or muddy, park at the 59er and walk. (Actually, this cache isn't winter friendly as it is.)

So here's the story.

Two years ago (2010) I started my own little tradition. I hid a geocache somewhere in our camp site and then put the coordinates somewhere in the main shelter. By Saturday, nobody had found it so I mad an announcement while sitting around the bonfire that evening. Cue hilarity as dozens of cachers descended upon the shelter trying to find the clues. Geo kids continually bugged me for hints and tips but I gave none. One pair of intrepid cachers managed to find the West Coordinates but never found the North Coordinates. So they started about 100m south and bushwacked in a straight line for 200m before impressively coming upon the camo'd container hidden in a tree. Sadly, this cache was never published as the park rules had changed that summer.

Last year (2011) I did it again. (Decon of 59) This time, I hid the clues within the map that was given out for the main challenge on the Saturday. All day, Geocachers carried the clues with them but didn't clue in until later when the potluck was happening. 1Queenand4Jokers, MHz, Trove Chasers and HappyMole claimed the FTF on that one.

So this year (2012) I did it once again! This will be published after teams have discovered the hidden coordinates, so I can reveal the thought process. This cache is hidden mere metres from the starting point of this year's challenge! That's right, if you did this year's Survival Test, you were just here! In fact, the parking waypoint coordinates are the same as the posted coordinates for GeoVenture Challenge: The Survival Test. This cache is also very close to last year's Mystery Cache. This worked out to be a bit of a coincidence as I had scouted a different location for the mystery hide, but that one didn't work out.

Now the question is... who will be the first to figure out this year's mystery?
