The Ole Trough Traditional Cache
BrianStacey: I do apologize for the lengthy delay in archiving this geocache. Truth is, I just simply forgot all about it. This cache was repeatedly being stolen and vandalized by muggles. That was the original reason for disabling it. Then, the building went under new ownership and renovations and I have since resigned from the neighboring fire department, no longer being able to keep watch over the cache. If someone else would like to give the spot a try, best of luck. Thank you to all who took the time to hunt for this one. It was a great spot...apparently the muggles enjoyed it too.

These coords are the best out of four sets I've obtained. They get me within 8 ft of the cache. Happy hunting. If you want somewhat of a challenge, don't read the hint...it'll pretty much give it away.
East Liberty was once known for its abundunce of artesian wells. Many houses had wells on their property with some being near the back porches. These wells provided an endless supply of clean cold water. This cache is located at one of those wells, still flowing, referred to as "The Ole Trough". I've been told that this trough was once a popular spot for the locals to water their horses back in the day. Today, many people still stop by to fill numerous jugs or to just get a cool refreshing drink.
The old brick building, at this location, was once a hardware store and housed a loft upstairs that was used as a meeting place for the K of P and Pithian Sisters. It's now the home of the Logan-Union-Champaign Regional Planning Commission. The Perry Township Fire Dept is also located at this site.
This cache contains a log only, but can hold geocoins and a limited amount of small swag. You'll need your own writing utensil for this one. Please be mindful of muggles! Many people still stop by, all hours of the day, to fill water jugs...you may want to bring one to fill in order to better disguise yourself. There are "Fire Lane" signs posted at the trough and westward to the stop sign, but it's still safe to park here for a short time. JUST DON'T PARK IN FRONT OF THE BAY DOORS TO THE FIRE HOUSE! The fire dept is aware of the cache. If I get any complaints of cars parked in front of the doors, I will disable this cache. Have fun and happy hunting.
