Love Story Traditional Cache

A traditional cache to commemorate a very special place.
18 years ago (from the publish date), I asked my wife to marry me very near this cache.
Now for the full story. Back on September 24, 1991, I was driving down Kallio Road (that’s the road you will take to get to this cache) with a very beautiful young lady sitting next to me. Actually we were both young. 16 to be exact. While driving that night, I asked her to “go with me”. The next summer I decided to surprise her by carving a heart with our initials in a tree, right next to the side of the road near the spot where we started dating. Our love continued to grow and when I decided to propose, I thought I should do it at “our tree”. She wasn’t expecting it, as I casually suggested that we stop by to look at it again. She walked straight up to the tree and I knelt behind her. She said “YES” and we were married on February 25, 1995.
Now for the sad part of the story. One day we were driving down “our road” and noticed they were doing some construction. As we rounded the corner, we discovered the awful news. They cut our tree down and completely disposed of it. To try to preserve a memory, I took a chunk of asphalt from the exact spot of where our tree had been. It may have even been the spot where my knee was planted during the proposal???
Now years later and still connected to “our road”, I wanted to place a cache to commemorate this very special place. The cache is a little further east of where our tree was…but not much.
