PH-58 (control Site) Swedesboro_The southernmost Nike missile installation in the Garden State, the Swedesboro site followed the "standard" Nike site specification possessing 3 underground missile magazines. Nike Hercules missiles became operational at this site during the early Sixties. Site PH-58 was manned by units of the active Army until the closure of the nationwide Nike system in the 1970s. Location Launcher Area: Swedesboro, (Gloucester County), NJ Control Area: Swedesboro, (Gloucester County), NJ Dates of Operation 1957-1974 Weapons Systems & Missile Load Nike Ajax / 30 Nike Hercules / 24 Missile Magazines 3 Magazines. 1 type "B" and 2 type "C". Radar Types ABAR(AN/FPS-75) Unit Information Army - D/176th (1957-1958) D/2/59th (1958-1961) B/3/43rd (1961-1974) Present Status The abandoned Swedesboro Nike missile site remains partially intact today and is owned by the General Services Administration.

Condition: Off Limits GSA controlled
Remaining structure: One of the best preserved of the PH ring sites with many buildings intact. Property is gated and posted no trespassing.

Launch Site
Location: Swedesboro Paulsboro Rd
Condition: Off Limits GSA controlled
Remaining structure: Buildings razed and access road vigorously guarded by homeowner near the property. Do not approach.
