Geocache Description:

Summary: This could be a quick cache & dash for drivers, or one to grab on the way by for walkers. If you park at the suggested lay-by along Charlton lane (see description for coordinates), a short walk north leads to a break in the hedge row.  This gives you access to 'Rooks Way', a permissive footpath that runs from Clanfield to the nearby pub.  Somewhere in this hedge row, Mr Skinny can be found.

Description: The Mr Men series is based on the characters created by Roger Hargreaves.  It was the idea of our 8yr old son, who thoroughly enjoys our trips out geo-caching.  Placing some of our own seemed to be the next step in keeping his interest going.

As a child, I enjoyed listening to and reading these stories.  The simple plots and colourful characters are now proving to be a real family favourite with both our children.  The series of 46 books introduce us to a number of unique characters, each with their own story to tell and lessons to learn.

This series has a number of clip-top containers to be found, as well as the odd unique one to keep you interested.  Please can you place them back with care, and then hopefully we can keep them out of the grasps of those pesky mugglers.  The route takes you on a trip that boasts views of both Butser and Windmill hills.  It can be steep in places, and may not be suitable for all.  For a short stretch, the return leg takes you along Charlton lane.  Obvious care and attention should be taken here as this is close to the A3 turnoff for Clanfield.  The east side of the road has a grass verge to walk on until you rejoin the path at the bridge.

For drivers, Charlton lane (west side of the A3) has a lay-by for parking (N: 50 56.822, W 00 59.038), and with Mr Skinny only a short walk away, this is my suggested starting point.
