The cache IS at the posted coordinates. This is Davis--watch out for cyclists!


I noticed the other day that "North Fork," an older Davis, California hide from '05, had been archived. It got me thinking about the oldest caches around 95616. Some geofacts about the area that I found interesting:

As of August 24, 2012, there were 341 active caches within 5 miles of the point designated as ZIP code 95616 (most of Davis), according to a geocaching.com search. The 10 oldest are:

To qualify for this challenge, you must find 10 caches within five miles of 95616 hidden in 2004 or earlier and still active. You could use these 10 caches above. (Bonus karma if you do!) Or any combination of the 31 caches active as of August 24, 2012. (If the cache was archived prior to 8/24/2012, don't include it as a qualifying cache--but tell us about it in your log or at GC3WCVQ, the 10 Years anniversary event on October 17.) BTW, if any of the 10 oldest get archived, other caches will move into the oldest 10. (And for the stats lovers, North Fork was the 49th oldest.)

So, I went to pay my respects to the site of North Fork, and hid a hanger nearby (see the posted coordinates above). I'm calling it a micro. It held a travel bug and another piece of swag when first placed.

First-to-find honors on this challenge cache will be shared. First finder who already qualifies as of this cache's publication (Congrats, douggeo!) will share honors with the first finder who found at least one cache after this challenge cache was published, in order to qualify (Team 5-12/BerkeleyBoomers).
