Geocache Description:

Welcome to Historic Ragersville.
Your first stop (and cache find) is very near a replica of Conrad Rager’s 1830 cabin. As you seek this cache you will be reminded of an era long past and what is must have been like living those early days. You are welcome to come and sit a spell…(hint)

If you happen this way on a Sunday, the Ragersville Historical Society is opened June through October Sundays 1:00 - 4:00 (no charge).
In addition to Conrad Rager's Cabin, other buildings that are open include the 1830 One Room School (on the National Register); the Museum in the basement of the 1897 Lutheran Church; the 1845 Wine Cellar (original); and the 1833 Steiner Cheese House (replica). Don't miss the beautiful Mural depicting the rich history of Ragersville located in Auburn Township.  If you are a nostalgic baseball fan (especially the role of women in early baseball) note that Ragersville is the home to Alta Weiss (a professional ball player 1907 and a doctor). Visit her exhibit in the Museum and note her childhood home beside the Lutheran Church and her later residence beside the 1830 School.

Ragersville welcomes you to geocache anytime (daylight hours please)!  This Geocache has been placed with the approval and support of the Ragersville Historical Society.
