This cache is placed near the location of the filming of scenes in The Shire from both the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. It is located near to 'Hobbiton' which conducts tours of the movie set, however does not require Geocachers to be on 'Hobbiton' property to locate it. The nearest town is Matamata, around 10 minutes drive from the GZ, with the town of Cambridge being 20-25 minutes drive away.
PLEASE NOTE - THE GC IS ACCESSED FROM THE ROAD. You do not need to climb fences to find it.
Hobbits live in hobbit-holes, with perfectly round doors like a porthole. Bilbo Baggins' door was green with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle. This cache lives in a hobbit hole, also with a round door, but painted a different colour and with a different handle to blend in better with the surroundings. This cache began life as a simple multi. However, the ever expanding requirements of 'Hobbiton' saw not one but two final locations destroyed, so the first stage is now also the final.
Please reposition the local vegetation when finished to avoid muggling from the many visitors to this area.
