I have my theory on it, but we haven't arrived at any solid conclusion on it. I just keep her away from "leaves of three" to be safe. Unless of course, there's a cache in the middle of it.
Then, all caution is flung into the wind.
At one of my own caches, she learned what a sloe vine looks like because the container was under one. At other caches we've visited, we discussed ivy. Or what kind of tree is that? Or what flower is this? Catch where I'm going with this?
Yep, she's (and possibly you too) going to learn how to spot another plant. Maybe even two.
Soooo....On this particular day, I ran away from home to meet her. An unexpected incident arose and we couldn't get our caching done as planned. I went to this really nice park to do some caching. After a wonderful stroll through the woods and finding two caches easily, I happened to wander out into a clearing where there was a pond about half full of water lilies. It reminded me of another one of our conversations and I enjoyed a good laugh remembering that one. That's when I decided there needed to be a tribute cache just for my good friend Quilter512.
I found a great spot, checked the coords for distances to the other caches and it was acceptable. BUT, there was a nice growth of poison oak/ivy (whatever) there. I found a nice entrance to where I wanted to go and forged ahead.
When searching for this and you find yourself heading into a patch of "leaves of three", you're going wrong. Find Virginia Creeper and you're on the right path. See here for more information.
