Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small plastic container, uniquely cammoed to the surroundings.

CONGRATS TO THE THREE TEAMS WHO WERE ALL THERE FOR THE FIRST TO FIND!!! I have yet to meet another geocacher, and would have loved to have been there that morning!

This cache is located at evergreen park, formerly Ross Twp. Community Park.  Me & the B man were on a find & hide here, and thought this was perfect.  There some unique history surrounding the location of the cache, included below. What I found interesting were the land owners' names during the early days of this area, and these family's name resonate to the towns & road today.

The land were this park sits today was first sold to Paul Zantziger of Lancaster, PA, in 1788, for his having been an artillery officer in the Revolutionary War. In 1798, his 200 acres were sold at a sheriff’s sale to Gen. John Wilkins, Jr., who bought much land in The Depreciation Tract. Part of the land was sold to John Stewart in 1799, whose son, James, built “the mansion house” (as Ross’s old farm houses were then referred to) in 1834, and sold it in 1847. Another part of the acreage was sold by Gen. Wilkins to William Gormley in 1803, who sold it to Jacob Sangree in 1817. The Henrich Schlag family bought the farm in 1864.
Their land had been the Stewart land. A log home was built here by the Stewart family, along with several outbuildings for the farm. Later, the Schlag family would reside here, until the 1900's today a beautiful park sits on the original property, with a log House built in memory.
