A series of 12 stand alone caches set in the beautiful Kilburn Woods owned by the Forestry Commission and jointly managed by The North York Moors National Park ranger services.
The Lime and Ice project was created in 2008 and creates opportunities for people to learn about, explore and enjoy the landscape heritage of the south-west corner of the North York Moors National Park and the northern part of the adjoining Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Please visit the new exhibition at the National Park Visitor Center at Sutton Bank ,for more information.
After descending down through the tree's the bridleway can be extremely muddy in wet weather suitable footwear is a must! There is an abundance of wildlife in the woods, if you are quiet enough you might see the odd deer, very common in here. GPS'r reception is poor in here due to the dense tree cover and close by escapement.
