A series of 12 stand alone caches set in the beautiful Kilburn Woods owned by the Forestry Commission and jointly managed by The North York Moors National Park ranger services.
The Lime and Ice project was created in 2008 and creates opportunities for people to learn about, explore and enjoy the landscape heritage of the south-west corner of the North York Moors National Park and the northern part of the adjoining Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

How do I tell the difference between a Hawthorne and a Blackthorn? Common Hawthorn has lobed leaves, Blackthorn has elliptical leaves tapering at the base. The Blackthorn tends to have longer thorns. Hawthorn has leaves before flowers in spring
