Geocache Description:

The Hangings is now a footpath and cycleway between Parkeston Road and Dovercourt Station.

Originally part of the route of the Eastern Counties Railway, the line opened in 1854. With the opening of Parkeston Quay, however, the line was diverted in 1882 away from The Hangings to serve the new Parkeston Quay Station and the track through The Hangings was removed. Two bridges remain on Parkeston Road just short of the A120 roundabout, one carries the road over the former railbed and the other over Dock River. The path is mostly covered by tree's hence the Hangings at points there are lovely views over looking the esturay towards Shortley and felixstowe.
This is my first cache so i thought i'd do one close to home easy to maintain, i will hopefully add more along this route in  the future.
this is a well used path conecting the retail park with harwich town center and is a popular dog walking route. The cache i have layed is of medium size room for small swaps and Trackables.
