Het gebied Woensel-Noord is ingedeeld in vier wijken en 21 buurten.
Esp is een buurt in de wijk Dommelbeemd, in het stadsdeel Woensel-Noord in de Nederlandse stad Eindhoven.
De naam Esp lijkt te duiden op een gebied met Espen (ratelpopulier of Populus tremula).
Deze boomwordt gebruikt voor bosaanplant, landschappelijke beplantingen en in parken. De ratelpopulier werd vroeger wel geplant naast de "bruidssuite" van hotels. Het rustgevende geluid van de bladeren zou het jonge paar goed doen.
Het hout van de ratelpopulier wordt gebruikt in de papierindustrie en omdat het hout traag brandt en niet knettert is het tevens de ideale boom om lucifers van te maken.
Het gebied Esp herbergt nog steeds enkele boerderijen en tegenwoordig ook een klein bedrijventerrein.

Esp is a neighborhood in the District of Dommelbeemd, in the city part Woensel-Noord in the Dutch city of Eindhoven.
The name Esp seems to indicate an area with Aspen (or Populus tremula).
This tree is used for forest plantations, landscaping and parks. The aspen used to be planted next to the "honeymoon suite" of hotels. The soothing sound of the leaves is said to do good for the young couples.
The wood of the aspen is used in the paper-industry and because the wood burns slowly and does not crackle it is also the perfect tree to make matches from.
The area Esp still houses some farms and nowadays also a small business-parc.
