iowaPete: Well, rats! The Final for this cache used to be dangling from a rusty bridge rail to the east of the cemetery. After the last finder dnf’d it, I stopped out and found the bridge had been replaced by 2 steel culverts😞

Gonna say goodbye to this cache for now. I may come up with a new cache nearby in the future. Stay tuned.

Big thank you to all who came out to find this one. It lasted quite a while.

Geocache Description:

A straight-forward 2-stage multi-cache.

I've driven by this forlorn little cemetery plot for a lonnnng time, and wondered exactly what was there. I finally stopped one afternoon and walked in to see what was what. There isn't much left in terms of visible markers here. But, there is one historic tombstone that I thought cachers might enjoy seeing. It's the tallest one left. Looks like neglect and abuse have all but eliminated the others.

The initial coords will take you to the marker of Dewitt Clinton Percy.

To find the Latitude coords for the final stage, consider his date of death. A-B-CDEF. The coords for Latitude are N 42 FC.CEB.

In order to find the correct longitude, just add his age at death in years to the current longitude.

The final is a tethered micro. Please bring along your own scribbler to sign. Please replace as found. CITO where appropriate.

A word of caution here - the ground in the cemetery USED to have markers placed in it. Over the years, many of these markers have disappeared, but THE HOLES ARE STILL THERE.

Please be careful while walking to the first stage. I don't want anyone twisting an ankle.
