Geocache Description:

The ancient monument (grave) is situated in a field on Shanmaghery Hill near McGaheys Crossroads. Through the generations there has been much speculation as to what it was. It has through time fallen into poor condition, but can still be seen situated about fifty meters from the road side.

I think this is a neolithic passage tomb, built about 7000 years ago. It seems to align with the solstace. The cache is a lunchbox, inside a dark bag. The cache contains a log book, pen, pencil, and a few other toys/gadgets Also there is a disposable camera included. Feel free to take a photo of yourself if you want. If the weather is wet appropriate footwear would be advised as ground can get soft. There are 2 ways to access the field, one on the camaghy road (metal), and a double wooden gate on the shanmaghery road. the camaghy road metal gate is closer
