Oh Montana! You Take My Breath Away!
Okay, I admit it. I love Montana.
I lived there for three years while my husband was in the military and that's when the love affair began. My first daughter was born in Great Falls. Became well acquainted with the stories about Lewis and Clark Expedition. Used to go on long Sunday drives to the hills to watch for deer, elk, bison, and wild horses. Montanans are the most warm-hearted, non-judgmental people you'll ever meet and the sky--well, it just goes on forever.
Hubby and I went back this summer to visit Glacier Park. We rode the darling Red Bus up and down Going to the Sun Road, saw two bears, ate huckleberries until our tongues turned blue, roasted marshmallows under an endless heaven filled with stars, and found we loved it just as much as ever.
Hubby caught a 5 pound rainbow, but had to release it because it was over 12 inches. We geocached to our hearts' content, thereby being lead off road to sites we would never have visited otherwise; such as the place where the first gold was found in Montana, the charming little ghost town of Garnet, a six-student public elementary school in Swan Valley, and a lookout peak where we stood in the very footsteps of William Clark as he watched for his partner, Meriwether Lewis. Caching is great in Montana!
Along the way, I started collecting souvenirs I wanted to use for the swag for a geocache I wanted to put together in honor of this great state when I returned to Utah. Here it is.
Please trade fairly. Only one swag item per cacher, please. Stamp and ink pad are not for trade. Room for small TBs and geocoins. Also included, some Montanan Native American poetry, just for ambiance. If you have any stories to tell of a visit to the Treasure State, I would love to hear about it when you log in! And may I say, reading your logs makes my day. Please take a moment and write more than who you are with and TFTC. Any comment related to the cache or theme of the cache would be much more fun to read. Your effort in writing a fun log is how to best thank me for my effort. Note: Please make sure all is safe, dry, well sealed and well hidden when you leave.
Enjoy!
