Puedes acercarte al faro con coche, caminar unos pocos metros hasta la localización de cache y disfrutar de las vistas.
Construido en 1858 sobre la antigua torre vigía "Atalayola", en el extremo Este del Cabo, presenta una extraordinaria vista panorámica de la bahía de Santa Pola y Alicante, con la Isla de Tabarca enfrente. Hay bastantes indicios para suponer que la torre primitiva era de construcción original romana. Plinio, cuando describe estas costas, las llama 'Torre del Atalayón'. En cualquier caso, sin duda perteneció a la cadena costera de torres vigía.
Era una torre de planta cuadrada y ataluzada en todo su cuerpo, rematada por una cornisa. Aún se aprecian en sus cuatro paramentos las aperturas de aspilleras horizontales.
Pero lo que más llama la atención de la zona son los impresionantes acantilados. En el arriesgado deporte del parapente, el Faro y sus acantilados son uno de los más famosos en toda España. Sin duda alguna, la comodidad del vuelo en parapente se llama Santa. Pola, y lo vemos en los despegues y aterrizajes sin problemas, recogidas rápidas, amplia ladera , apoyos locales y la presencia en la zona de estructuras profesionales dedicadas al parapente.

You can reach the lighthouse by car, walk a few meters until the cache location and enjoy the view.
Built in 1858 above the old View Tower “Atalayola”, in the east side of the cape, shows an extraordinary panoramic view of de Bahia of Santa Pola and Alicante with the Tabarca Island just in front. There are several indications that show that the primitive construction was originally roman. Plinio, when describes this coast, calls it the ‘Tower of Atalayon’. Anyway, no doubt it belonged to the chain of watchtowers on the coast.
It was a tower with square base with a cornice in the top. Still are visible in the four sides the horizontal loopholes.
But what it calls more the attention of the zone are the incredible cliffs. In the risky sport of paragliding, the ‘Faro’ and its cliffs are one of the most famous of the whole Spain. No doubt, paragliding in Santa Pola is comfortable, as we can see the take offs and landings without any problems, with wide slope, local support and the presence of professional structures for paragliding in the area.
