GAG (i.e. Go And Get'em) has been an Ottawa/Gatineau tradition for many years. It is a recurring event. Cachers across the region place geocaches. The new caches are usually published en masse. Everyone waits until 6:00pm on the following Friday night to start the hunt for the newly published caches. The next day at 6:00pm, everyone gets together for a celebratory geocaching event to unwind, have a bite to eat, and swap stories. It's a lot of fun and a great way to get first to finds. Over the years, hundreds for GAG caches have been placed in the national capital region. You challenge is to find 100 GAG caches.
Challenge Requirements:
You need to find 100 GAG caches to log this cache.
- What exactly is a GAG cache? A GAG cache is one placed for a Go And Get'em (GAG) event. These caches typically have names that begin with "GAG" and some GAG related message in the description (example: "GAG17 - Star Wars makes me GAG"). The actual GAG event caches count too. Links to GAG cache bookmark lists are provided below to help you with your hunt. Some older GAG caches don't have the GAG prefix but still count (example: "- The Raven -'s Museum"). There is one cache with a GAG prefix, "GAG15 - NOT!", which was not placed for GAG (the description says "Cette cache ne fait pas partie de GAG15"); that cache doesn't count towards this challenge. If you are unsure whether a particular cache counts or not, send me a message through my geocaching profile asking for clairification.
- How can I tell if I qualify? Go to your "Found It" logs and count them. If you have found 100 GAG caches, then you qualify. If not, you'll need to find more before logging this cache. Finds prior to the publication of this cache count. I will be checking the qualifications of those who log this cache by viewing their finds list through their geocaching.com profile.
