The Horn, as I understand it, was a road that connected Bear River Drive with County Road many, many years ago, before this stretch of Highway 89 and the overpass were built. From the stories I've heard, this was a popular place for the teens of Evanston to hang out, whether it was skiing behind cars in the winter, meeting up with friends, or steaming up car windows.
That road is gone now, though parts of it remain, including the part of Red Mountain Road passing the liquor store here and heading southeast. I drive that stretch of road everyday. But it's not as fun as it must have been back in the day.
It was getting stormy when I was trying to get my coordinates, so I hope they are right.
