Geocache Description:

Decided we needed a tree climbing series in the EUP.  Who’s up for it?

SORRY, THIS IS NO LONGER A SERIES. IT'S NOW A STAND ALONE. THE FINAL WAS ON PROPERTY THAT THE DNR SOLD TO A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL. THE TREE IS ALSO DEAD NOW LIKE MANY OTHER PINE TREES IN THE AREA. IT IS STILL VERY CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING YOUR WEIGHT, BUT BE CAREFUL. IN A COUPLE YEARS I WILL HAVE TO MOVE THIS TO A LIVING HOST.
There are four regular caches and a puzzle cache for the final.   By the time you get to the final, you will probably have done the most difficult “terrain” in the EUP.

I wanted to do a maple, an oak, a white pine and a red pine, but I had trouble finding a huge red pine that still had low branches.  The red pine cache is actually in an oak in the middle of a red pine forest.

Now for the safety information.  No matter what, tree climbing is dangerous, so be very careful.  This may seem silly, but I’m making a list anyway.
1)      Adult supervision is required.
2)      Go with a partner.  (Sorry I’m a hypocrite on that point.)
3)      If you get to a tough spot, don’t rush through it.  Take your time, think about your next move.
4)      Make sure the branch you are depending on is capable to hold your weight.
5)      Once you get to the cache, stabilize yourself  in a crotch or by leaning with your feet planted. (you will need both your hands to work the cache lid and to sign.
6)      Don’t fall.

Located in a local cemetery.  Container is a small lock top.  Let's try to get some good swag in these caches.  About 30 feet up, but which one???
