Lost Time is a cache hidden in the Amherst Conservation Land Harding's Forest. Well built stone walls and abandoned foundations are evident. The area is open in all seasons. It is fairly dry and the hike to the cache is mainly uphill.
This is my first attempt at placing a cache and I have placed about 25 small items in a large Ammo box to be traded. Cache is available in all seasons. In Winter, it would be a nice snowshoe hike up the trail, but the Cache could be frozen in place. The location is on Amherst Conservation land part of the Peabody Mill Environmental Center. It is located in the Harding Forest off the Plumb Trail which branches off from the Highland Trail which has a trail head on Brook Road about a 1/2 mile before you get to the Conservation Center. You can park in the school bus turnaround about 500' South of the trailhead or possibly park on the side of the road near the trailhead. It is a very pleasant hike up the Highland trail. It is hard to believe that all this area was once open fields. The significance of the title of the Cache is based on the question or who lived and worked this land 200 years ago.
