This is not a fishing story! It is more about not using technology correctly and then wandering around a forest looking for the perfect cache site again!
We, Kady my granddaughter and her grand parents (Ti-Nours and Canuckeh!), were replacing a Geo Amigo cache that went missing on a beautifult September 1st day. We were adding a bonus cache for those people who made the long treck out to the Pennisula cache. Kady (3 years old) was a real trooper on the more than 1 kilometer walk.
Well, we decided to place the new cache on the way in. We looked for the best place and after a number of nope not here we found a great spot. I then placed the cache and used the old Garmin 60Cx to mark the spot - Way point 28 -and I then averaged the spot 30 times.
As we walked on I was thinking of an appropriate name for the cache....the name ended up very different than what I was thinking about.
At the site of the missing cache we were replacing we found a great spot. I placed the cache and I was thinking this one will not get muggled. I took out the trusty 60Cx, which Kady has been using for everything incuding a phone, and I hit the Mark button. That is strange Way Point 28 the same as the new cache...aw s$%%^^&! Yup, I over wrote the way point of our new cache.
Oh, well how hard would it be to find again! The answer is hard...every tree looked the same.
We wandered the bush for 20 minutes until Ti-Nours said those words every Geocacher wants to hear "found it"...especially on this one!
You should have an easier time, having the co-ordinates, it was humbling for me but a fun adventure for us!
