Geocache Description:

Before you go after the cache, take a look at the cemetery marker just off County Road 22.

NOT IN THE CEMETERY
but very close

When I heard the story of this marker, I knew I had to share a story that may be lost in a generation or two. An Alango man, I don't know his name, saw this stone on his property north of Lake Vermilion. When he saw it, it became his mission to move it to the Alango Cemetery. It just looked like it was meant to be there. His property is water only access. That meant that there was not a road for a truck to come in on to haul out this rock. He had a special barge and crane built to take the rock from its location to the distant shore where it was loaded on a large truck. Take a look and see why he made the effort he did. There are more details of the difficulties of getting this rock here which I don't remember, but if I hear them again, I will update this description.
