Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Geocaches which have not been maintained or the owner has not responded will not be taken out of the archive

Geocache Description:

Bekkedalen er en veldig kort løvskog som strekker seg fra Rødbergveien til Trondheimsveien.

Bekkedalen blir også kalt for Fagerdalen. Tidligere var Bekkedalen tilholdssted for uteliggere i barhytter, og området var en av byens søppelplasser.
Bekkedalen er nasjonalt verneverdig, og området har 120 forskjellige plantearter. Bekkedalen har mange ulike plante- og treslag. Opplysningstavler om dette, og om dalens geografi og kulturhistorie finner du langs stien. Hovinbekken, som renner gjennom Bekkedalen i sin ferd fra Trollvann ned mot Akerselva, er en av Oslos mest lukkede bekker. Her renner Hovinbekken fritt gjennom Bekkedalen, noe som den også gjør på motsatt side av Trondheimsveien. I Bekkedalen er vannet så rent at bekkeørret har blitt observert.
Det er mulig å sykle til cachen, men da er det viktig på å holde øynene på veien på grunn av steiner og andre ujevnheter. Bekkedalen er knyttet til sykkelstien langs Trondheimsveien i sør, som er et fint utganspunkt for mange flere cacher i nærområdet.
Grunnet høye trær og lignende er det dårlig GPS-signal i dalen. Koordinatene er derfor ikke helt presise, og cachen kan derfor befinne seg 10 meter unna stedet der GPS-en vil ha deg til.

Cachen er en Lock & Lock boks som inneholder loggbok, blyant og noen byttegjenstander.

Hovinbekken runs through Bekkedalen on it's way from Trollvann down to Akerselva. Bekkedalen has many animal and plant species. Informative boards about this, and about the valley's geography and cultural history can be found along the path. The water in Bekkedalen is so clear that brown trout has been observed.
It's possible to cycle to the cache, but due to rocks and uneven surfaces it's important to keep your eyes on the path. Bekkedalen is connected to the cycle path that goes along Trondheimsveien, which is a good starting point for other caches in the local area.
Due to tall trees and similar factors there's a bad GPS-signal in the valley. Therefore the coordinates are not entirely precise and the cache might be 10 metres from where the GPS wants you to be.

The cache is a plastic Lock & Lock box that contains a log book, a pencil and some exchangeable items.
