Welcome to Jarboe Park! Located at 17th and Jarboe St. in Kansas City, MO, the property for what is now Jarboe Park was first acquired around 1900. According to the city website, the land has a colorful history.
A playground was first installed in 1907, followed by a shelter building in 1914. The building included toilets, showers and dressing rooms, leading to regular use by trainmen working in the nearby West Bottoms. (The building closed in 1942.) In 2011, new playground equipment was placed in the area and the pool has seen some work, as well.
Jarboe Park is part of West Terrace Park, whose boundaries are (according to the city website) near 6th Street to the north, Interstate I-35 to the west, 17th Street to the south and an uneven border to the east near Summit, Jefferson and Pennsylvania.
The cache was originally a small container with lower D/T ratings. It was then changed to a bison tube after multiple mugglings. Permission for the placement granted by Kansas City Parks & Recreation.
