The scenic village of Bygstad in Sunnfjord is situated in the fjord of Dalsfjorden and lies at the foot of the mountain Storehesten. Bygstad is known for "Gaularspelet", a historic play set in the Viking era. The local restaurant "Tønna" is also worth a visit. This is a restaurant rebuilt into an old barrel factory, telling the story from an industrial period of time. Here guest can enjoy good food with local origin and a good drink, whilst enjoying the view of the fjord.
There are many possibilities to go for walks in the Bygstad area, the "Osen Folkesti"- trail is suitable for almost anyone, and is highly recommended if you want a nice walk. Maybe you will even find another geocache?
The cache is easily accessible. If you are driving to the Bygstad the cache is placed in close vicinity of a parking lot. It is also very nice to bicycle to Bygstad from other places in Sogn og Fjordane. If you are travelling on E 39 Bygstad is just a short detour.
