EN: First, I have to say that from the day I was born, I spend every summer on Korčula (well, of course, not only Korčula, but I try to get here at least for one week every year). In spite of that, I have never ever heard of this place before, and therefore, my surprise was even bigger that a place like this can exist on the island. This is what I found on the net about it:
Kocje is nature preserved area locality with interesting rock formations. This natural locality has always been absorbing attention of local inhabitants of Žrnovo village as well as of visitors if they get the chance to see it and experience passing through its mystery stone mazes. Concentration of large rock in the area of about 10 000 m2 create impressive and unusual forms which tend to arouse the visitor's imagination. Kocje is unusual landscape that stands out adding a dose of mystery. There is also a weird theory by an Italian professor of physics and mathematics, which says that «airing of positive lines of magnetic force from space reflects to only one point on the surface of planet Earth». According to her calculations, this point is Kocje. Some archeologists consider this location as interesting one and would like to do some experimental excavations here, as they believe Kocje were inhabited by prehistoric man.
You start your adventure from Rupe (this is actually part of Žrnovo village), and park there (N 42° 57.091 E 17° 06.183). From here, take the large straight footpath leading NW, and walk for about 15 minutes. You will see stunning panorama of Pelješac and Vrbovica harbour. Arriving at Kocje natural locality (N 42° 57.195 E 17° 05.564) turn left from the road, and follow the path (right from the big rock) through the woods. I think this is the only deciduous forest on the island (the rest of the trees, as majority in the whole Dalmatia, are coniferous). And yes, I had to look these words up in the dictionary…
Forest is thick, and much darker than the rest, so do not go there at or near the sunset, as you will miss some fantastic colours and scenery due to the darkness. You will find yourself in the middle of “Lord of the Rings” scenery, a maze of paths, rocks, trees, moss, but not a living soul for miles around. At the end of the path, you will find a small clearance, where druids meet during every full moon, prepare magic potions and sacrifice local virgins (if they can find any).
Well, maybe not, but it sure looks like that…
Cache is hidden just before the final clearance, climb to your right until you reach 2 trees growing near the rock. You can find the cache between the tree and a rock, covered with a stone. A bigger stone is just near the tree trunk, showing you the right place. Look at the spoiler picture.
And finally…. prepare to be amazed!!!
HR: Prvo, moram reći da sam od dana kad sam se rodio, provodio svako ljeto na Korčuli (naravno, ne isključivo i samo na Korčuli, ali sam pokušao biti ovdje barem jedan tjedan godišnje). Unatoč tome, apsolutno nikad nisam čuo za ovo mjesto prije, i stoga je moje iznenađenje bio još veće da mjesto kao što je Kočje ovo može postojati na otoku. Evo što sam o Kočju našao na netu:
Kočje je zaštićeni objekt prirode sa zanimljivim formacijama stijena. Ovo mjesto oduvijek upija pažnju lokalnih stanovnika Žrnova, kao i posjetitelja, ako dobiju priliku da ga vide i dožive prolazeći kroz tajanstvene kamene lavirinte. Koncentracija velikih stijena u području oko 10 000 m2 je stvorila impresivne i neobične oblike koji bude maštu posjetitelja. Kočje je neobičan krajolik koji se ističe svojom dozom misterije. Tu je i čudna teorija od talijanske profesorice fizike i matematike, koja kaže da se «emitiranje pozitivnih silnica iz svemira odražava na samo jednu točku na površini planeta Zemlje». Prema njezinim izračunima, ta točka je Kočje. Neki arheolozi smatraju ovu lokaciju vrlo zanimljivom, te žele početi s eksperimentalnim iskapanjima, jer vjeruju da su Kočje naseljeljavali prethistorijski ljudi.
Počnite svoju avanturu iz Rupa (to je zapravo dio Žrnova), gdje se parkirajte (N 42° 57,091 E 17° 06.183). Odavde, krenite širokom pješačkom stazom u smjeru sjeverozapada, i hodajte oko 15 minuta. Putem ćete vidjeti divnu panoramu Pelješca i uvale Vrbovica. Kad došete do prirodnog lokaliteta Kočje (N 42° 57.195 E 17° 05.564) skrenite lijevo s ceste, i slijedite stazicu (desno od velike stijene) kroz šumu. Mislim da je to jedina listopadna šuma na otoku (ostatak stabala na Korčuli, kao i većina u cijeloj Dalmaciji, su crnogorice).
Šuma je gusta, i puno tamnija od ostatka, pa nemojte ići tamo tijekom ili neposredno prije zalaska sunca, jer ćete propustiti fantastične šumske boje i krajolik radi mraka. Naći ćete se u sred krajolika "Gospodara prstenova", labirint putova, stijena, drveća, mahovine, ali bez žive duše kilometrima uokolo. Na kraju staze, naći ćete mali proplanak, gdje se druidi okupljaju tijekom svakog punog mjeseca, pripremaju čarobne napitke i žrtvuju lokalne djevice (ako takve u okolini uopće mogu naći).
Hmmm, možda i ne, ali scena upravo ovako izgleda ...
Cache je skriven neposredno prije proplanka, popnite se zdesna sve dok ne dođete do dva stabla koja rastu u blizini stijene. Cache je između stabla i stijene, pokriven kamenom. Jedan veći kamen je u blizini debla, označavajući pravo mjesto. Pogledajte spoiler sliku.
