This cache has been archived.

NoconaVirginia: My health and the recent flooding in that area gives me reason to think it's time to let this one go.

Thank each of you so much for finding this cache!

Geocache Description:

UP FOR ADOPTION! I sincerely regret to have to ask this but I have little choice. For the past 2 years, I've had one pretty serious health concern after another (cancer & treatments and back surgery). Please contact me if interested, otherwise I'll have to archive this challenge cache.

The placement, search and retrieval of the final is with the knowledge and permission of the Army Corps of Engineers, the owner of this property.

Hunting of different sorts is allowed YEAR ROUND here. Be very sure you take proper precautions when seeking the final.
It's an advisement of USACE, not me.

The cache IS at the above coordinates. You cannot log this as "found" until you complete the challenge. You can log it as a note if you find it and sign the log, then edit your note to a smiley once you meet the criteria. Any "found it" logs that haven't been substantiated will be deleted.

Welcome to Bodies of Water: Challenge for a Century.

Your Challenge is to find 100 caches that have a body of water in the title.

Examples include: -
pond, lake, river, swamp, bog, stream, marsh, creek, bay, canal, sea, ocean, bayou, beach (since it implies being at the ocean)...

While it will be hard to list EVERY thing that is acceptable, here are some others that are:
strait (as long as it's a a strait of water)
port (not airport)
branch (as in small creek)
spring (not the season)
channel (as long as it's of water and you're not couch surfing )

I'm not going to be super crazy over what caches are listed, I'd rather know you're having lots of fun!
What doesn't count? Water in other forms... shower, puddle, water, rain, etc. Also "proper" names of specific bodies of water don't count. So you can't count "Atlantic" (as in Atlantic Ocean) or "Banister" (as in "Banister river") when it stands alone. Run and arm are two that the checker will list, those do not qualify. Neither will airport, as defined above.

Cache owner has the right to refuse and delete logs deemed not acceptable for the find.

Lists can be emailed for approval before posting. Use the address on the CO profile.

***************

* Any cache type, size, difficulty, terrain, or location will qualify for this challenge.
* Your qualifying caches can be found anywhere in the world.
* Please list your qualifying caches any way you see fit, as long as it includes the cache name, GC code, and date found. ).
* It can be listed in the log below, link to a bookmark list, post a picture of the list, etc.
* Be sure to BYOP, logs not signed in the physical cache because there wasn't anything to write with won't be allowed and you wouldn't want to hike back to your vehicle for one.
*To level the field, only caches found after 9/01/11 will count. I found my first cache on 9/4/11, so the date is meaningful to me.

A Project.GC checker has been created by vpdj. It was modified to fit the requirements and it really does speed up the process immensely. The results given now match the challenge requirements. (12/29/14) THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME TO ADD THE CHECKER LINK HERE, vpdj!!!!

There is parking for this, where you would park for any other cache on this property.

The cache has been given this difficulty/terrain rating because it's unknown which caches you may be using for qualification. There may be lots of driving, walking, researching and other variables involved in finding the caches needed.

Good luck and most of all...HAVE FUN!
