A város szíve a Béla tér, mely kiindulópontunk lehet sétánk során. A teret az 1805-ben épült copf stílusú templom őrzi, melynek nevezetessége, hogy Közép-Európa legnagyobb egyhajós temploma. Naponta háromszor harangjáték hallható. Szemben a pestisjárvány szomorú emlékét őrző Szentháromság-szobor, körülötte autóforgalom hullámzik. A teret a Városháza épülete nyugatról, a régi Vármegyeháza keletről zárja le.A város szíve a Béla tér, mely kiindulópontunk lehet sétánk során. A klasszicista épülettömböt Polláck Mihály tervezte, 1836-ban építették, az átadás emlékét a belső udvaron ma is látható tiszafák őrzik.

Ugyanitt kerülnek bemutatásra az I. Béla király által alapított, 1061-ben emelt monostor romjai, mely köré rendház és vár épült. A kereszténység megszilárdításában fontos szerepet játszó I. Béla szobra egyébként a róla elnevezett téren látható, Lessenyey Márta alkotása. A Vármegyeháza ma hivataloknak és a levéltárnak ad otthont, utóbbiban kiállítások tekinthetők meg.
Az épület külső udvarán található a díszes Borkút, Baky Péter és Szatmári Juhos László alkotása. A Borkút csapjaiból neves alkalmakkor bor folyik.

The heart of the town is Béla square, which can be starting point of our walk. The square is guarded by the coptic church built in 1805. It is famous for being the largest one-nave church in Middle-Europe. You can listen to the chimes of the bells three times a day. On the other side of the square there is the Holy Trinity statue preserving the sad memory of plague amid the dense traffic of cars. Béle square is closed by the Town Hall on the West and the old County Hall on the East.
Pollack Mihály designed the old classicist block, which was bulit in 1836, the memory of the handing over is preserved by yews standing in the inner courtyard.

Here are the ruins of the monastery, founded by King Béla 1st and was built in 1061. A priory and a castle were also built around it. The statue of King Béla 1st, who played important role in the stabilization of Christianity, can be found on the square bearing his name. It is the work of Lessenyey Mária. The county Hall now houses offices and the achives, in the latter one you can visit exhibitions.
The richly decorated Wine Well, which is the work of Baky Péter and Szatmári Juhos László, is on the outer courtyard of the building. The taps of the well give wine on important dates.
