The nearby Chebucto Road is a major thoroughfare in Halifax. The name is the Anglicized version of the Mi'kmaq "Jipugtug" ("big harbour"), their term for the Halifax area .
The road passes through several interesting neighbourhoods of mixed residential and commercial buildings and even crosses a former airport. A hundred years ago this area was mostly farmland, as depicted on a mural you can see a few blocks away on the corner of Chebucto and Philip Streets.
This little green space is property of the nearby shopping centre. Their permission has been granted to place the cache.
Please treat the area with respect, no need to disturb any of the greenery.
