Each of the 33 caches is named for a Manitoba community. Most are traditional caches. Two are multi caches where the final is hanging in a shrub directly across the road from the given coordinates. (Read that last sentence again to be sure you understand.) Ten of the caches are puzzles. There are ditches to cross and they may occasionally be wet or snowy - dress accordingly. Above all, we encourage you to enjoy this beautiful area with its multitude of kettle lakes (prairie sloughs) and the critters that call them home.
The tiny community of Jenpeg on the Nelson River was created to accomodate those who work at the hydroelectric generating station built there in the 1970s. While not all remote communities in northern Manitoba are accessible by road, Jenpeg can be reached from Provincial Road 373 off Highway 6 north of Grand Rapids.
