Geocache Description:

Another cache  placed around the grounds of the Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre for your enjoyment and to experience a stroll around the area and do a bit of geocaching in a family friendly environment and may be feed the birds There are two childrens play areas.The cache is a camouflaged  container with some goodies.

The area is a good place to do a bit of birdwatching on the former gravel pit-usually at least 10 different bird species on the water and a walk around the lake can produce on average list of 20-25 species, sometimes more in Spring.The centre is close to one of the largest areas of inland reed beds in the South of England and close to the finds of  Mesolithic (8000BC) artifacts(Flint tools,animal bone and objects such as pins for fastening clothes made from deer antler. It is possible to park near to the cache in Nature reserve car park-alternative Car Parking is available at the Discovery Centre(No charge at present)
